That is all I have to say about that...

New Barckley Clubhouse

I was cleaning the kitchen when things got too quiet. It seems that Elliott has found a new clubhouse...Too bad Mommy isn't stupid. She had already planned for this scenario. All the tupperware is closed so that we just put it all right back in there and don't have to rewash the inside from little hands touching it!!------------------------------------
Coloring is the new IT thing with Elliott.
Whenever we take away the art supplies we get a full teenager sized meltdown.

That's what I get for trusting a toddler....

So I decided to try and be a "good wife" and make breakfast for the family while Andrew was out fishing for the morning: pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. I made Elliott's first and let her go to town on it while I continued to make pancakes for us. This was my reward...
I turned my back for just a few minutes and my child has applied bacon to her head. Fantastic job, Tiny. I can't decide if she just loves bacon to the point that she needs to smother herself in it. Or was she just doing her impression of Wild Bill from Silence of the Lambs?

Andrew has the BEST JOB EVER!!

Learning and growing

Elliott mastered the high-five and turning on the fan today. She also drew some pictures while I was at work. The piece on the left, hung with the Tennessee waterfall mullet, was an independent work. The one on the right, hung with the squirrel pelt mullet, was a collaborative effort with A.W. Barckley, the first.

The Canoe Project

Elliott is in a canoe built by the Barckley family. And yes, that is a boat in a swimming pool.
A-L-A-B-A-M-A; it's OK here!

Playing at MeMe and PopPop's House

Elliott went over to play with Taran and Caleb for a few hours while MeMe and PopPop went to go get some fresh from the garden veggies.
She was really into some independent pool time and kept trying to get out of her float. You aren't quite ready yet, Tiny. She loves her Caleb!!Always with the pointy finger... "What's that?"
Daddy isn't sharing his toys.
She is paddling away from the 'rain'.
Now Daddy is throwing a fit because Elliott won't share.
Her Monkey Mullet gets more impressive by the day. What I love is that she has an undercoat just like the cat that takes forever to dry. I am thinking that she will have thick Barckley hair!!
Playing with one of Taran and Caleb's old toys. I had forgot how ANNOYING it was. "Do you want to be a VTech star, well grab the mich and sing along!"
She kept clapping and dancing along with the music.
Thank you Taran for being Elliott's DJ!! (Taran is even wearing headphones like a real DJ.)
The girls are relaxing in the bean bag chair and watching Go Diego Go. We learned about penguins in this episode.
"What else can I scatter about MeMe's clean living room?"
Caleb helped her out with her favorite toy...the shape ball. She is so assertive when she wants to play with it. She will shove it at you repeatedly and yell if you do not yield to her shape ball needs.
Looking more and more like Daddy.
"Wait. What do you think you are doing?"
"I'll show you how it is done!"
She looks comfortable.
(Yes, she had chocolate all over her onesie. What can I say? The girl loves brownies!)
Daddy is going to get you.
Waiting for MeMe and PopPop to make it home.

Such a busy week already and it is only Tuesday!

Elliott has had a busy week already and we just got started. Ever since she saw Parker (who is 2 months older) walking this weekend, she has figured out that this is the preferred method of transportation. She has walked more in the past 2 days than in the past 2 months.
She went to see Dr Walley on Monday morning and we are proud to announce that she isn't growing as fast anymore, thank goodness!
She weighed 23 1/2 lbs and was 31 3/4 in tall.
She got her immunizations and her crabby attitude to match as well. Tiny, you will thank us when you are older and aren't dead from preventable diseases because your parents bought into the evil pharmaceutical companies' campaign of lies and terror!
There was a conspiracy Monday night to prevent me from sleeping. Between Andrew, Elliott and Sassafras, I got 3 hours of sleep. After dropping Elliott off at MeMe's house, Andrew and I headed to the the doctor for a Sassafras appointment. In case there was any doubt, I AM TIRED OF BEING PREGNANT! I am almost to the point of believing that the whole 'pregnancy' is a lie and my OB/GYN is just trying to scam my insurance company. Either they are waiting until my 7th trimester to deliver this baby, or "Ma'am, there is no baby. We have been monitoring an abdominal tumor for the last 9 months." Usually their office is a safe haven where people don't judge and make rude remarks. Apparently, this rule doesn't apply your last weeks of pregnancy. At work I have gotten used to the fact that acceptable social interactions during pregnancy are different than those of non-pregnant interactions. You wouldn't just walk up to a stranger and touch their belly. You can't walk up to a fat person and say, "Wow, you are huge." Why is it OK to verbally and physically assault a pregnant woman? It is OK though because my "extra weight" will look really cute in a onesie one day soon where yours will not.
Rin needs to step away from the tirade and just put up some cute pictures.
=) Look at Elliott drinking from her sippy cup like a big kid! She has named it her boon-boon. =)
Check out the nice job she did on her bottom lip. She was tearing through the kitchen on hands and knees and, like a typical female, did not pay attention to the road hazard in front of her. The steam cleaner does NOT jump out in front of you.

Here she is with a little attitude showing. Apparently the flash is disruptive to the 2 hours of Wow Wow Wubbzy she wanted me to watch with her.
She was so excited about her dessert that Papa Joe brought her. He brought over a birthday cake for me and she got her own chocolate tart with whipped cream and berries. Bathtime followed promptly.

Slip N Slide Party

Elliott went to a Slip N Slide party. It was more for the adults but the children were welcome to watch the Daddys play. Andrew ended up with a left flank abrasion from the 'improvements' made. They included 2 Slip N Slides, a child's pool and a front yard slope that ended with a wall of holly bushes. Tiny kept herself entertained while Mommy monitored the "tall children" to make sure no one lost a leg or ended up in the ER.
I was finally able to get a picture of her doing her Bear Crawl!

Snack time

Bulimia is the new IT thing amongst toddlers these days.
Bowed legs, fat pads on the hands and a saggy, infant sized diapers are on the covers of all the magazines.
Chief complaint: rabid toddler vs.
marshmallow ingestion
Yep, definitely rabies."What were they thinking when they said I couldn't put 3 marshmallows in my mouth at the same time? Amateurs!"

It's too stinkin' hot to do anything besides play in the pool

I love that crinkled nose! She got brave and put her face in the water. For Easter she had got that blue and green starfish tub toy that sprays water like a fountain. One of the best investments ever!! We did a little marine biology lesson while in the pool. Today she played with the hammerhead shark, dolphin, and pink starfish. (You can also see the yellow submarine that we used to explore all Cousteau style.) She also learned that Mommy Land Whales do not last long out of their natural habitat that includes air conditioning and root beer.
"What's that?"
"What's that?"
"What's that?"
Now multiple by 12 hours and subtract the time it takes for 2 naps and 4 meals.
She really wanted Daddy to come in and play with her. Yes, he is wearing a shirt; it is just hard to tell that he is. Very subtle markings like the difference between and coral and a king snake. Do you see ninnies? No. Then he is wearing a white shirt. He is multipurpose and works as reflective gear during evening strolls.
