February 6, Sunday

Loaded up the children today and headed out Mississippi way...
Elliott made friends with Snowball XII
(I really don't know what number Snowball he is; Nana has had a lot of cats with the namesake.) Elliott scratching her ears. Never mind the glass in between.
Playing with Nana's magnetic necklace.
So deep in concentration...and the cat is still rubbing against the door futilely trying to get her attention. Cats are nice but give the girl jewelry....
Sam's turn to investigate. The cat is as curious about him as he is about her. You know the saying about what curiosity did to the cat...it distracted her enough to where a toddler snuck up behind and whacked her with an old blue broomstick. Luckily I was watching Elliott and she was unable to hit anything with the broomstick. Crisis averted.
Free-range baby Is that the sky or my baby's blue eyes?

He loved crawling around in the grass. (Check out the fat rolls on the right arm.)
Classic up-the-nose shot
It was a beautiful winter day in Mississippi. The sky was blue, the weather was warm enough to wear short sleeves, and the Midwest is getting like 3 feet of snow. D-I-X-I-E!!
'Dem youngins turned loose in the front yard
Oh no! The Elliott saw her shadow. Looks like we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Dancing around the tree Props to the hubs; this is the picture straight from the camera without even so much as cropping.

The boys headed down to the levee to put scopes on their guns. Elliott and I went on down there because she was missing Daddy. Bucky didn't think that Elliott would shoot a gun. Elliott's response? "Bang! Bang!" So we gave her an AR-22 (without the scope even though Bucky suggested she use it) and let her open fire...
Her response: "I shooted!" And then skipped to Papa Joe to go tell him the good news. While we were by the pond, Nana took care of Sam. I think she drugged his milk because he was out when we got back. Nana telling Sam about cats.
Sam telling Nana all about how much he loves her!
